In the first half of this year, cargo turnover in Armenia decreased by 16.8% compared to the same period last year, according to data provided by the Statistical Committee.
Rail freight transport saw a more than twofold decline, while road freight transport decreased by 9.6%. A reduction in electricity production at thermal power plants led to an 8.2% decrease in pipeline shipments. However, air freight experienced a growth of 13.8%.
Interestingly, the situation in passenger transport is quite different, with significant growth across all sectors except air travel.
