Cashless spending continues to grow. According to data from TBC Capital, in July 2026, consumer cashless spending and the number of transactions made through TBC Bank channels recorded double-digit annual growth.
Specifically, total cashless spending through TBC channels increased by 20% year-on-year, while the number of cashless transactions rose by 18%.
In the same month, 81% of total cashless spending through TBC Bank channels came from residents, while 19% was attributable to non-residents. The share of non-residents increased by 3 percentage points over the past month.
Meanwhile, cashless spending on food increased by 20% year-on-year in July, while the average spending per transaction stood at GEL 17. Inflation for food and non-alcoholic beverages reached 5% during the month.
TBC Capital notes that in July, total cashless spending was distributed between consumer goods and services at 60% and 40%, respectively.
At the same time, food accounted for 44% of total cashless spending on goods during the month.
