Caucasus University is set to build a 26-story student dormitory next to its newly completed 24,000 sq. m. campus in Batumi. University President Kakha Shengelia said the project has already been approved by Batumi City Hall and is expected to be completed within two years.
The university is also entering the school education sector, planning to open its first K-12 school in Batumi. Shengelia said the dormitory will primarily serve Caucasus University students, including both Georgian and international students.
He noted that student demand in Batumi is growing beyond the local population, with students also arriving from Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi and Telavi. The university currently has around 7,500 Georgian and 1,500 international students in Tbilisi, with a similar student composition expected in Adjara.
Initially, the dormitory will be available exclusively to Caucasus University students, with the possibility of opening it to others later. The university plans to manage the facility itself to ensure the desired standards and quality.
