The Central Bank of Armenia is discussing the establishment of a new inflation target with the government, according to Central Bank Governor Martin Galstyan. This announcement was made during the preliminary review of the 2025 state budget draft in the Standing Committees of the National Assembly on October 28.
“We have started discussions with government partners about setting a new inflation target. Our proposal is to lower the target to 3%, aligning more closely with the strategies of developed countries and those pursuing effective monetary policies,” Galstyan stated.
Currently, Armenia's inflation target is set at 4% (+/-1.5%). The Central Bank Governor confirmed that the regulator would continue a consistent policy of managing demand and curbing inflation and inflationary expectations.
