Vice-Mayor of Tbilisi Irakli Khmaladze declares, that the initiative proposed by the Tbilisi City Hall for construction companies, includes the gradual payment of the K2 coefficient fee, so the municipality will be able to receive GEL 5-6 million.
Vice Mayor explains that neither the City Hall has been receiving the funds from this fee nor the companies can continue the projects due to the debt.
"Today, several facilities are stopped and the works cannot be carried out due to financial problems. One of the important components is the accumulated debt of K2 fee. If Parliament takes this initiative, we will be able to distribute this debt to construction companies over a period of time. It will be a kind of support and they will be able to resume construction. And those people who are waiting for their residential and commercial spaces will be satisfied for some time and will get their property.
I cannot say the number of companies, but it will be possible to mobilize about GEL 5-6 million in a definite period of time. This debt is written on a piece of paper, but no one can pay it, because the payment model includes single payment, which they cannot afford. As a result, the municipality is not able to receive this amount, while companies cannot renew the permit, "- explained Irakli Khmaladze.
