The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) of Georgia in July 2023 increased by 463.75 million GEL or by 0.98% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.42%) and constituted 47.79 billion GEL by the end of July 2023, the National Bank of Georgia said Friday.
The volume of loans in national currency increased by 93.57 million GEL (0.36%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 370.18 million GEL or by 1.73% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 0.48%), NBG says.
By the end of July 2023, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 7.50 billion GEL (1.74% less compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 13.48 billion GEL (2.30% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 1.05%).
During July 2023, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 0.91% or 227.94 million GEL, and constituted 25.39 billion GEL by the end of July 2023.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 54.47% by the end of July 2023 and decreased by 0.34 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0.03 percentage point), compared to the end of June 2023, NBG said.
