The concept of ongoing USD 115 million hotel and conference center project in Sololaki can change, - according to the Georgian Tourism Development Fund.
The Hotel and Conference Center is part of the large-scale project "Panorama Tbilisi", which is implemented by Bidzina Ivanishvili Co-Investment Fund in 2016. In 2020, businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili handed over large investment projects of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund to the Cartu Fund due to its unprofitability.
Georgian Tourism Development Fund is talking about a change in the timing of the Luxture Collection brand hotel, as well as Tabori Hotel and Golf Club as part of the Panorama Tbilisi project. The fund notes that the project with a new concept is expected this year, but the fund cannot specify the project implementation dates.
"The timing of the project on the Sololaki ridge has changed due to the epidemic, which has a very negative impact on the hotel industry, especially in Tbilisi. Due to the existing challenges, changes may be made to the project concept," said the Tourism Development Fund.
Despite the change in the concept, construction of the monolithic frame has not been stopped in Sololaki this year.
The project has been under construction within the framework of the Georgian Tourism Development Fund. A 5-star, 190-room Autograph Collection Hotel is being carried out on the Sololaki ridge. According to the project, the center would have high-class meeting rooms with appropriate infrastructure and conference halls, where one of the largest halls would be able to accommodate 3,000 people.
