Construction costs in Georgia increased by 3.9% year-on-year in June 2026, according to the Construction Cost Index published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The main drivers behind the annual increase were higher costs for transportation, fuel, and electricity, where prices rose the most. Compared with June 2025, transportation, fuel and electricity costs increased by 16.6%, while machinery and equipment costs grew by 5.8%, other expenses by 5.8%, wages by 1.8%, and construction materials by 0.6%.
By sector, the largest annual increase was recorded in civil construction, up 5.8%. Residential construction costs rose by 3.5%, while non-residential construction costs decreased slightly by 0.1%.
On a monthly basis, construction costs in June increased by 0.9% compared with May, mainly due to a 5.4% rise in construction workers’ wages. Compared with the February 2022 base period, the construction cost index reached 129.3, meaning total construction costs in Georgia have increased by 29.3% over the past four years.
