Georgia’s economy recorded growth across almost all major sectors in July, while construction was the only sector to post a decline, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Real GDP growth reached 8.0% year-on-year in July 2026, while the average growth rate for the first seven months of the year stood at 7.9%. Meanwhile, turnover in Georgia’s private sector, comprising VAT-paying companies, reached GEL 17.7 billion, up 12.6% year-on-year.
According to Geostat, the sectors making significant contributions to economic growth in July included manufacturing, information and communication, financial and insurance activities, mining and quarrying, transport and storage.
Construction was the only sector to record a decline during the month. Geostat did not provide a separate figure for the scale of the contraction in its preliminary July report, noting that the data may be revised at a later stage.
