A modern residential complex for internally displaced persons (IDPs) is under construction on Tvalchrelidze Street in Tbilisi, with completion scheduled for spring 2026, according to the Ministry of Health. The large-scale project aims to provide safe, comfortable housing for thousands of displaced families currently living in temporary accommodations.

In total, 11 residential buildings are being built as part of the initiative, which will provide apartments for 2,426 IDP families. All apartments will be fully renovated and meet modern living standards. The total project budget amounts to GEL 243.6 million, while an additional GEL 11.8 million is allocated for external infrastructure works.

At the first stage of the project, the construction and renovation of four buildings are nearing completion. These buildings will house more than 900 IDP families currently residing in so-called compact settlements. The allocation of apartments is being managed by the Commission for the Study of Displaced Persons’ Issues in accordance with existing legislation, the ministry said.

In the next phase, housing will be distributed to other IDP families who have submitted official applications for apartments in Tbilisi. The ministry emphasized that the project represents a significant step in improving living conditions for displaced persons and ensuring their long-term social integration.
