Despite challenges, Georgia Remains Attractive To Int'l Investors - Deputy Economy Minister

ეკონომიკის სამინისტრო

According to Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vakhtang Tsintsadze, despite challenges, Georgia maintains economic resilience and remains attractive to international investors.

He stated that 2024 was a year full of global challenges, which, among other things, affected investors.

However, Vakhtang Tsintsadze explained that Georgia remains one of the global leaders in terms of investment indicators.

“One circumstance is that high interest rates persisted globally in 2024; second – 2024 was an election period in major economies. All of the above hurt global foreign direct investment, and in 2024, the global investment indicator decreased by 8 per cent.

Looking at EU countries and Europe, we have approximately a 45 per cent reduction. Against this background, the investment indicator in Georgia exceeded USD 1 billion 333 million in 2024, while in the fourth quarter, investment growth was recorded with foreign direct investments increasing by approximately 25 per cent, with their volume exceeding USD 367 million.

If we look at the ratio of foreign direct investment relative to the size of the economy, it should be noted that Georgia remains one of the global leaders by this indicator. All of the above once again confirms the fact that Georgia, despite global challenges and challenges in general, maintains economic resilience and is attractive to international investors,” stated Vakhtang Tsintsadze.
