The economic trends and results recorded in Georgia are beneficial not only for the country but also for the region, Europe and the global economy, according to Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
Commenting on Georgia’s latest economic data, Tsintsadze said the economy grew by 8.6% in June 2026, while average growth for the first half of the year reached 7.9%.
He noted that economic growth has been broadly diversified, with almost all sectors contributing to the positive results. The strongest contributions came from manufacturing, transport and storage, construction, information and communications, as well as other sectors.
According to Tsintsadze, positive trends in foreign trade have also supported economic expansion. He highlighted that exports have grown by more than 20%, while domestic exports increased by over 62% in the first six months of the year.
The Deputy Minister attributed the results to government policies aimed at supporting economic growth, including programs to improve private sector competitiveness, reforms focused on increasing the efficiency of state-owned enterprises, and the implementation of major infrastructure projects.
