Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Murat Nurtleu announced the launch of direct flights between Yerevan and Astana.

"To facilitate the free movement of citizens and entrepreneurs, we will open new flights between Astana and Yerevan," he said at a briefing in Yerevan alongside his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan on March 18.

According to him, recently the dynamics of bilateral economic relations has significantly intensified.

"In Armenia, there are over 100 enterprises with Kazakh capital registered, while our country hosts 435 companies with Armenian capital and 76 companies that are joint Armenian-Kazakh ventures," Murat Nurtleu said.

Earlier, BMG reported that in 2023, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Kazakhstan increased by 2.4 times, reaching $100.5 million. During this period, exports grew by 3.8 times, reaching $71.3 million, while imports increased by 23.6%, totaling $29.2 million.

It was also announced that Kazakhstan's President, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, plans to visit Armenia in the near future. In mid-February, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Gnel Sanosyan, discussed the preparation for the visit of the Kazakhstani President with Ambassador Bolat Imanbayev.
