Driving with vehicles equipped with winter tyres will be mandatory on certain roads from December 1.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) aims to ensure traffic movement safety and obliges drivers to follow the law from December 1 to March 1 at certain road sections.
In case of violation, a driver will be fined by 100 GEL and a reduction of 5 points on a driving license.
If the winter tyre and/or anti-skid chain does not meet the established requirements and driving by a vehicle poses a threat to traffic safety, the person may be temporarily deprived of the vehicle and placed in a protected parking lot.
