On November 15, Yerevan hosted the third meeting of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Council on Agro-Industrial Policy, chaired by Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan.
During the meeting, the agriculture ministers of the member states discussed key directions for developing the Union’s agro-industrial complex and measures for state support in the sector.
The session was attended by Russia’s Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut, EEC Board Member Gohar Barseghyan, and, via video conference, ministers and representatives of relevant agencies from Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan.
The participants reviewed issues related to the sustainable development of the agro-industrial complex, improving the efficiency of cooperation among EAEU countries, and enhancing forecasting systems in the agricultural sector.
Special attention was given to implementing the provisions of the Declaration on Economic Process Development in the EAEU until 2030 and aligning procedures for the recognition of organic products.
Ahead of the council meeting, a bilateral discussion took place between Gevorg Papoyan and Oksana Lut, during which they addressed a wide range of topics concerning economic cooperation between the countries.
