On November 11, Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan met with EBRD Executive Director for the region, Elisabetta Falcetti, and head of the EBRD's Armenia office, George Akhalkatsi, to discuss ongoing projects and future cooperation prospects.
The discussions focused on several key areas of Armenia’s economic development, with particular attention to export diversification programs, enhancing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises, and advancing the country's capital market.
One of the major topics was the development of a "green taxonomy" in Armenia. This initiative aims to attract sustainable investments and foster growth in environmentally focused projects.
In the context of investment opportunities and sustainable economic development, Minister Papoyan introduced the EBRD delegation to the government’s "Crossroads of Peace" program, which seeks to create a foundation for peace and stability in the region, benefiting both Armenia and its neighboring countries.
The minister expressed appreciation for the EBRD’s support in Armenia’s key economic sectors and highlighted the importance of continued partnership in these programs.
