On September 18, Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, held a meeting with Slovak Ambassador Miroslav Hacek to discuss the prospects for expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

Key topics included the development of trade and economic relations, market diversification, and identifying new areas for trade and investment.

Special attention was given to the implementation of the Economic Cooperation Agreement signed in April 2022. Papoyan proposed the signing of a bilateral investment promotion agreement, which could be an important step in strengthening economic ties.

The two sides also discussed the possibility of collaboration between the economic research centers of both countries' Ministries of Economy, which could lead to experience-sharing and joint macroeconomic research. Additionally, they explored potential cooperation in agriculture and tourism, with a focus on winemaking.

The minister also presented the “Crossroads of Peace” project, which could become a key element of regional and broader economic cooperation. Both parties emphasized the importance of organizing B2B meetings to foster direct business contacts.
