Georgia's Ministry of Economy is working on a master plan for the development of the Mravaldzali resort area in the Racha region, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a visit to the Shkmeri–Mravaldzali road construction project in Oni Municipality alongside Infrastructure Minister Revaz Sokhadze.
Kobakhidze said Mravaldzali has the potential to become a high-standard mountain resort, adding that the government is preparing the development plan in cooperation with Austrian partners. He also noted that the 9.5-kilometer Shkmeri–Mravaldzali road will significantly improve access to the area. Construction is expected to be completed in about two years, with preparatory and mobilization works currently underway.
The Prime Minister stressed that the infrastructure project will improve safe and comfortable transportation for both local residents and tourists while supporting the region's long-term tourism development.
