According to Davit Narmania, Chairman of the Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission of Georgia, the full rehabilitation of the electricity transmission network needs more than GEL 2 billion in the regions.
Davit Narmania declares, that Energo-Pro Georgia is ready to invest GEL 420 million for the next five years, but it is not enough for full rehabilitation of electricity network in the regions.
“Energo-Pro Georgia and we predict that investment of over GEL 2 billion is necessary to fully rehabilitated electricity networks in the regions. So, we should do it gradually. If Energo-Pro invests GEL 2 million in the rehabilitation, then electricity tariff will go up GEL 1 (per kWh). On the other hand, full rehabilitation cannot be done in 3-5 years with high quality. We should enable Energo-Pro Georgia to solve the urgent problems”, - said David Narmania.
