“Energo-Pro’s” Five-Year Investment Plan Might Be Revised – Narmania

GNERC Chairman Davit Narmania says Energo-Pro Georgia may revise and adjust its five-year investment plan, becoming one of the key reasons the regulator decided to extend existing electricity tariffs for three months.

Speaking after GNERC’s session, Narmania said the commission received a notice from Energo-Pro on Friday indicating that the company may partially amend its investment program. He added that tariff renewal was also delayed due to the need to finalize the energy balance and complete consultations with the government.

According to Narmania, maintaining current tariffs temporarily was necessary to allow more accurate calculations: “We need clarified data on projected generation volumes and their costs. In addition, Energo-Pro may slightly correct its investment plan. Based on these factors, we used our legal authority and kept the tariffs unchanged for three months.”

GNERC member Givi Sanikidze also confirmed that the commission may reconsider the investment plans: although the regulator approved them earlier, updated tariff applications could trigger a review if requested by the companies.

GNERC approved five-year investment programs on December 12: GEL 1.56 billion for Energo-Pro Georgia and GEL 400 million for Telasi. These were expected to be reflected in new tariffs set to take effect on January 1, 2026, but implementation has been postponed due to the three-month extension of current rates.
