Exports From Georgia To Peru Down By 49.3%

Visa-free travel was launched between Georgia and Peru from April 1,2024.

Peru is the 74th country where Georgian citizens can travel without a visa. BM.GE offers the trade and economic relations between the two countries in numbers.

Trade

In 2024, the trade between Peru and Georgia made up USD 8.7 million, which was 49.4% less than the same period last year, when the trade between two countries stood at USD 17.2 million. Of which, in 2024, the exports was USD 8.6 million.

In January-February, Georgia sold only two products to Peru: fish or marine mammal fats, oils and their fractions worth of USD 4.9 million and 3.6 million USD of mineral or chemical, nitrogenous fertilizers.

Last year, the full exports came from mineral and nitrogen fertilizers.

As for imports, this year Georgia bought only packaged medicinal products from Peru.

As for the past years, the highest turnover of USD 154.4 million was recorded in 2022. Even then, the main product was mineral fertilizers worth USD 150.1 million.

Tourism

Last year, 181 citizens of Georgia visited Peru, which was 20.4% more than the figure of 2022. It was 10.4% higher than in 2019 before the pandemic.

Direct foreign investments and remittances have not been observed from Peru to Georgia.
