Exports of natural stones from Georgia are becoming more active. In 2024, 4,027 tons of limestone (limestone tuff, ecaussine, limestone flux, limestone) worth 415,020 USD were exported. In 2023, exports were approximately 4-5 times less - 937 tons worth 83,870 USD, while in 2022, we exported 517 tons of limestone worth 119,000 USD.

The main export market for Georgian natural stone is China, where 2,544 tons of goods worth 333,000 USD were exported in 2024. In second place is Armenia, where 1,407 tons of limestone flux and limestone worth 63,000 USD were exported. And in third place is Italy with 76 tons of natural stone exports worth 11,180 USD.

According to 2023 data, Armenia was in first place among export markets, followed by Israel, Greece and Saudi Arabia.

The activation of limestone exports was due to the development of natural stone quarries in Georgia. Limestone Georgia, a company included in the Zodi group, processes and produces limestone quarries. The company has quarries in Kharagauli. Colliers Georgia MMS, which has been a partner with them for several years, has been ensuring the exports of limestone to export markets.

As Maia Zavrashvili, Managing Partner of Colliers Georgia MMS, noted in an interview with bm.ge, among natural stones, facing limestone is an attractive exporting product from Georgia.

“We have been processing limestone quarries in Georgia for several years and exporting to various markets. We put a lot of effort into exporting, it wasn't easy. Georgia was not known as a country producing natural stones, and for years no quarries were being developed in Georgia," noted Maia Zavrashvili.
