Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia and Natia Turnava, Acting Governor of NGB met Bo Li, Deputy Managing Director of the IMF within the scope of US Visit.
Dignitaries reviewed the current and midterm macroeconomic and fiscal parameters, as well as monetary policy aspects at the IMF HQ.
As noted at the meeting, fiscal parameters of the country returned to the safe level as a result of high economic growth and tight fiscal policy pursued in recent years. It is important to note that projections of economic growth of Georgia made by the IMF have been adjusted and are now tilted upwards at around 5.7%.
Discussion was also related to the flow of strategic reforms and the significance of the IMF support towards this end.
Georgian attendees of the meeting included Giorgi Kakauridze, First Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Ministers Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili.
