Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia met with the IMF Mission on Monday.
Article IV Mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) started its visit to the country to carry out its periodic consultations with the authorities as scheduled in advance.
Meeting of the IMF Mission with Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia was also attended by Deputy Ministers: Giorgi Kakauridze, Ekaterine Guntsadze and Mirza Gelashvili.
Current IMF Mission aims to assess the existing macroeconomic position of the country, along with its fiscal and monetary policies.
The Minister of Finance of Georgia shared information with the IMF Mission on the current trend of budget execution and mid-term projections of the country.
As noted at the meeting, post-pandemic macroeconomic parameters of Georgia evidence resilience and fiscal parameters returning to the benchmark indicators.
In parallel with the support demonstrated to reforms and capital expenditure projects, work will progress towards mid- and long-term analysis, forecasting and planning instruments to be further improved and perfected.
Significance of EU Candidacy, granted to Georgia was highlighted, along with its role in the public funds management (PFM) reform agenda.
