Flower exports from Armenia to Russia ahead of International Women's Day have doubled since the beginning of the year compared to the same period last year, the press service of the North Caucasus Interregional Department of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) told TASS.
"In anticipation of International Women's Day, the North Caucasus Interregional Department of Rosselkhoznadzor notes an increase in the volume of cut flower shipments through the Upper Lars checkpoint on the state border of the Russian Federation. Since the beginning of 2024, Rosselkhoznadzor has monitored over 20 million flowers from Armenia; in 2023, during the same period, shipments amounted to over 11 million flowers," the statement said.
The number of imported tulips from Armenia almost tripled, roses increased by 1.3 times, chrysanthemums by 32.5 times, and daffodils were imported for the first time. However, shipments of alstroemerias decreased by 1.6 times, and gerberas by 2.3 times.
