A shipment of 960 tons of gasoline has been imported into occupied Abkhazia from Russia, local news outlet Apsnypress reports.

According to media reports, the 960 tons of AI-92 grade gasoline was imported by the local company "Apsny Oil" which purchased the fuel under a contract with "Rosneft."

From the received shipment, 303 tons will be distributed to "Azid," "Alkhan," and "Salamandra" for sale at their respective gas stations. Apsnypress also notes that these same companies will receive an additional 380 tons of diesel fuel by the end of the week.

Context: Ongoing Fuel Crisis

Occupied Abkhazia—which relies almost entirely on Russia for its fuel supply—has been facing severe fuel shortages for weeks. Long queues have formed at gas stations, where fuel is often sold under strict rationing limits.

On August 12, it was revealed that fuel had been imported into the region from Georgian-controlled territory for the first time.

As of August 18, a total of 680 tons of fuel had been delivered from Georgia to the occupied region by the company "Solidus." The company's owner, Giorgi Arveladze, confirmed the supply, stating that without it, "40,000 Georgians would have started crossing over to Zugdidi with 20-liter canisters."
