The main task of the Government Coordination Commission on Food Prices is to regulate product prices in a way that improves accessibility for the population and enhances the quality of access, said Minister of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection Mikheil Sarjveladze, following the commission’s first meeting.
The meeting of the commission, chaired by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, focused on organizational issues and planning the commission’s work through the end of April, Sarjveladze said.
“A government commission headed by the Prime Minister has been established. Its main objective is to regulate product prices so that the population’s access improves and the quality of accessibility increases. At today’s first organizational meeting, we practically outlined how the commission can operate by the end of April to be as result-oriented as possible and deliver concrete outcomes,” Sarjveladze stated
According to the Minister, the commission’s work is expected to create the potential for prices to begin decreasing as the process moves forward.
