“Their presence has lost its meaning, as they represent a particular faction and constitute the Deep State in our country. We can hardly call them diplomats given their statements and actions,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze commented on a meeting between former president Salome Zourabichvili and representatives of the Diplomatic Corps.

Kaladze argued that the interests diplomats serve are apparent to the public.

“Over the years, whenever a serious incident or trouble has arisen in the country, it is because of these individuals and the attitudes they promoted. They claimed that white was black, and we witnessed masked, camouflaged performances all in the name of democracy.

In reality, these are the people who have fueled conflicts, deepened polarization, and financed extremist organizations. Many other unsavoury actions will soon come to light. It is clear how they plotted government overthrows and funded revolutions in various countries,” he stated.

The Tbilisi Mayor believes that Georgians are perceptive and that the majority of the population understands “what has transpired with the involvement of these so-called diplomats and the true purpose of their activities.”

“As a result, the Georgian people made a wise and significant choice in the 2024 parliamentary elections. Not only did the government stand firm, but the majority of society, alongside us, also averted calamity in our country,” he concluded.
