Yerevan and Armenia's regions may receive support from the French Development Agency (AFD) to address transportation issues. This topic was central during a meeting between representatives of the agency and Armenia's Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Armen Simonyan.
The discussions focused on the development of public transport in both the capital and the country's regions. Key topics included organizing regular transportation services, optimizing the location of bus stations, and modernizing transport infrastructure.
Armen Simonyan highlighted the priority areas for the sector’s development, emphasizing the existing challenges and available resources for implementing specific programs.
The AFD delegation included key figures such as Olga Kukouin, Deputy Head of the South Caucasus Office; Karine Feuquin, Head of the Urban Development Team; and Liz Enezyan, Head of AFD’s Program in Armenia.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue dialogue, opening up prospects for joint projects to improve Armenia’s transport system.
