The Tbilisi Development Fund has completed the construction of a new 10-story residential building on Kaloubani Street N18 in the Samgori district, replacing a three-story dilapidated structure as part of the city’s program for the rehabilitation of unsafe housing.
Mayor of Tbilisi and “Georgian Dream” mayoral candidate Kakha Kaladze, together with Vice Mayor Giorgi Tkemaladze, visited the site and met with local residents.
“We have completed a very good project in the Varketili settlement, which will benefit 29 families. The old building was dismantled two years ago, and from today families will live in a new, modern residential building with renovated and well-maintained apartments,” Kaladze said.
“Today, we are handing over apartments to 12 families, while the remaining families will receive their new homes by December. I would like to thank the residents for their cooperation, as well as the Tbilisi Development Fund and the construction company BK Construction for their involvement.”
Kaladze encouraged other Tbilisi residents living in unsafe buildings to take advantage of the program for replacing dilapidated houses, which, he noted, provides a path to safe and modern living conditions through collaboration with the municipality and district administrations.
The old building at Kaloubani Street N18 was dismantled in 2023, and the total cost of the new construction reached 7.76 million GEL. The works were carried out by BK Construction LLC.
