On Monday, August 5, Armenia's Minister of High-Tech Industry, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, and his Deputy, Gevorg Meliksetyan, visited the company OVIO, formerly known as "GNC-Alpha." The visit marked an important milestone in the development of the country's technology sector.

OVIO, which underwent rebranding in May 2024, exemplifies the transformation of a traditional telecom operator into a multi-faceted technology company. OVIO's CEO, Hayk Faramazyan, gave the guests a tour of the company's facilities, showcasing significant infrastructure improvements.

A highlight of the visit was the introduction to the new data center, launched in May 2024. This center, the first and largest of its kind in Armenia, is equipped with cutting-edge international-level technology.

Faramazyan emphasized that OVIO is expanding beyond traditional telecommunications services, creating a unified ecosystem of digital services. The company now offers a wide range of services, including high-speed internet, smart TV, fixed-line telephony, and various cloud solutions.

During the visit, current issues and challenges in the telecommunications industry were discussed. Minister Hayrapetyan assured that the ministry is paying close attention to these issues and is already taking steps to address them.
