The Competition Protection Commission of Armenia has imposed significant fines on six companies operating gas stations in Yerevan and three provinces for selling substandard gasoline, with the total fines for various violations exceeding $1 million.
Companies fined for selling gasoline that did not meet established standards include Edo-Sarukh ($152,500), Ayr Ev Ordi Aronyanner ($93,300), Gaz-Propan ($125,200), Edgar Oil ($3,400), TIG Group Oil ($168,100), and individual entrepreneur Karen Hambukyan ($16,900).
Violations were identified at gas stations in the Kotayk, Ararat, and Vayots Dzor provinces, as well as in Yerevan. Inspections revealed that the fuel quality did not comply with declared standards. Additional fines were imposed for failing to provide requested information during the investigation, with Violeta fined $254,500, Ayr Ev Ordi Aronyanner $93,300, Edo-Sarukh $38,100, and Gaz-Propan $11,300.
Edo-Sarukh also received a separate fine of $38,100 for obstructing the inspection and hindering the work of Commission staff.
