In 2025, Gazprom increased its gas supplies to Georgia by 40.4%, according to information released by the Russian energy company.

Gazprom reports that it continues supplying gas to neighboring countries, and in 2025 exports grew across Central Asia and the South Caucasus. Deliveries to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan increased by 22.2%, while supplies to Georgia rose by 40.4%.

In recent years, Georgia’s gas imports from Russia have been steadily increasing, while imports from Azerbaijan, still the country's main supplier, have been declining. In 2024, gas imports from Russia reached their highest level in a decade. Full data for 2025 is not yet available, but 11-month statistics show that imports continued to grow.

According to Geostat, Georgia paid more than $123 million for Russian gas in the first 11 months of 2025, marking a 13% annual increase. In 2024, the value of Russian gas imports reached nearly $146 million, up 32% year-on-year.

Georgia is connected to Russia via the North–South gas pipeline, which also supplies Armenia. In previous years, Georgia received 10% of the transited gas as a fee, but contract terms were later changed and Gazprom Export switched to monetary payment. Contract details are not publicly disclosed due to claims of commercial secrecy.
