The Parliament has supported the initiative to liquidate the Public Service Bureau.
According to the draft law adopted in the third reading, the liquidation of the Public Service Bureau will take place on April 1, 2025. The functions and responsibilities of the Bureau will be transferred to the Government Administration.
In order to liquidate the Bureau, the government must establish a liquidation commission within 10 days of the law's enactment. According to the draft, employees released as a result of the liquidation will be provided with compensation equal to one month's salary.
"Currently, the Public Service Bureau is involved in the public administration reform process, which is carried out under the coordination of the Government Administration. The Bureau also manages the very important platform hr.gov.ge, which publishes information about vacancies within the public service and ensures its accessibility.
After certain analysis, it has been assessed that the Bureau, functioning as a legal entity under public law, is no longer necessary. This is related to both cost optimization and the important process itself, which involves the concept of public service reform and its direct implementation by the Government Administration," stated Parliamentary Secretary Vakhtang Bachiaashvili during the parliamentary discussions.
