Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced that fines totaling GEL 1 billion will be waived for all energy companies. However, he did not specify when the list of companies eligible for this amnesty will be made public.
Kobakhidze emphasized that the decision is unique because it involves no differentiation between companies. All energy firms will benefit equally from the waiver, regardless of their size or ownership.
The fines will only be reinstated if a company fails to meet its obligations in the future. According to the Prime Minister, this approach ensures fairness across the entire sector.
He reiterated that the measure applies to every energy company without exception, highlighting the government’s intent to provide sector-wide relief rather than targeting individual firms.
