The Municipal Development Fund under the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure has announced a GEL 1.4 million competition for the design of a new multifunctional park on the Rioni River embankment near Chavchavadze Bridge in Kutaisi.
According to the announcement, proposal submissions will open on December 3 and close on December 8.
The project provides the creation of a modern, multifunctional recreational space that will integrate recreational, cultural, educational, and social areas. Planned facilities include a media library, open-air amphitheater, cafes, catering spaces, sports and training zones, and children’s play areas.
The design concept is based on a landscape-oriented approach, emphasizing minimal environmental impact and the development of a network of pedestrian and bicycle paths.
The park will also feature modern infrastructure, including parking areas, outdoor lighting, irrigation systems, electrical and water supply, and enhanced security systems.
A special competition commission will evaluate the proposals and select the winner, who will then prepare detailed design documentation. Following this stage, a construction tender will be announced to implement the project.
The planned development is expected to become one of Kutaisi’s key urban renewal projects, enhancing the city’s recreational infrastructure and livability.
