Roads Department of Georgia has announced a 28-million tender for the rehabilitation of the highway in Pshavi, which includes lot of the Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo road with a length of 13.4 kilometers.
"The existing road is located on a difficult terrain, damaged and amortized. The project section starts from the 7th km of the existing road. Approximately 6 km of the existing road to be designed is a damaged asphalt-concrete surface, the rest of the section is a dirt road, the longitudinal and transverse profiles of which are disturbed. On the sections of the existing project road, there are damaged stone walls and flat stone retaining walls. New artificial structures have been installed on certain sections of the road: soil retaining walls and road retaining walls. The section of the existing road consists of several serpentines, in most cases their bend curve is equal to 4m on average," the tender documents state.
According to the information published on the State Procurement Agency, the companies participating in the tender must have experience of performing road works worth at least 60% of the cost of this project.
Acceptance of proposals in the tender starts on August 10 and ends on August 15.
