The construction project of the Batumi highway is being delayed.
According to the Roads Department of Georgia, construction works on the section of the Batumi bypass road have to be completed on December 31, 2022, but today the works are being carried out at a slow pace. The agency does not specify when the project worth GEL 330 million will be finished.
"The contractual value of the works is GEL 329,630,734.78. At this stage, due to improper mobilization of required resources by the contractor, the construction works are progressing slowly. The contractor company was repeatedly warned in accordance with the contract. If the contractor company does not take appropriate measures to increase the progress of the works, the department will carry out relevant procedures provided in the contract," the Roads Department explains.
According to the agency, the construction works of the Grigoleti-Kobuleti highway are carried out by JV "Polatyol&Mapa", and its completion is planned for 2022-2023.
