Georgia’s Roads Department has completed the construction of a new bridge over the Khobistskali River in the Khobi municipality, connecting the villages of Gaghma and Gamo Gariata in the Kariata administrative unit.
The project included the construction of a 116-meter steel-reinforced concrete bridge with a 1.5-meter-wide pedestrian walkway. The contract, worth GEL 4.7 million, was signed with Construction Service in December 2022, with an original completion deadline of 12 months.
However, the project faced repeated delays, with the contract amended 14 times and deadlines extended first to 2024, then to 2025, and finally to May 20, 2026.
The same company is also involved in constructing a GEL 60.5 million bus depot in Tbilisi, which was also significantly delayed, with its completion deadline pushed five times to May 31, 2026.
