Georgia’s Roads Department has reannounced international tenders for the construction of the Rustavi–Red Bridge and Algeti–Sadakhlo highway sections, divided into four lots.
The project covers the construction of a 61.2-kilometer, four-lane concrete expressway connecting Georgia’s road network with the borders of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The route forms part of key East-West and North-South international transport corridors.
The project also includes the construction of 26 bridges, 11 interchanges, and an external lighting system, in line with international road safety standards.
The works will be financed through a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and co-financing from the state budget, while the design was prepared by a Dutch company with World Bank support.
