Buying goods and services over the internet is becoming more popular, and as a result, e-commerce shows a growing trend. In the third quarter of this year, a record number of operations were fulfilled over the internet.
According to the data of the National Bank, 31 136 521 transactions were made on the internet in the period of June - September, in the second quarter this figure was 24.7 thousand, and in the first quarter, it was 20.6 thousand.
In 9 months, a total of 76.5 million e-commerce operations were performed with Georgian card instruments - amounting to GEL 5.45 billion. Compared to the previous year, internet payments made with Georgian card instruments have increased by 15% or GEL 712 million.
September was an outstanding month for electronic commerce - with 10,855,622 transactions, operations worth GEL 781 million were performed.
