The Roads Department has announced four tenders totaling 9.2 million GEL for riverbank reinforcement works along the Alazani River in the Signagi municipality.
According to the department, the works will cover three districts of the Milari area and the village of Erisimedi. The riverbank interventions are deemed necessary due to ongoing erosive processes along the Alazani, ensuring both the stability of the riverbed and the safety of the surrounding territory.
“The axis of the Alazani Riverbed forms a natural border between Georgia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Therefore, the planned works carry special significance for the protection of the border area. The bank reinforcement works will be carried out in four different locations, with an estimated total project cost of 9,205,249 GEL,” the Roads Department stated.
The projects will be funded from the state budget. Submission of proposals for the tender will conclude in March.
