Georgian diplomas will now be recognized in China, and Chinese diplomas in Georgia, following a new government resolution issued on June 9. The resolution came into effect immediately upon publication.
According to the document:
Under Article 18 of the Law of Georgia "On International Treaties of Georgia", the Agreement "On Mutual Recognition of Higher Education Qualifications and Diplomas/Certificates between the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia and the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China", signed on May 15, 2025, has been approved for implementation.
To finalize the process, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia is required to inform both the President and the Parliament of Georgia about the agreement’s conclusion. Additionally, the Ministry must notify the Chinese side that Georgia has completed the internal procedures necessary for the agreement to take effect.
