In January-February of this year, Georgia purchased 10,924 tons of frozen chicken meat worth 16.4 million USD, which was 25% more than the same period last year.
According to Geostat data, the average price of imported poultry meat in 2024 was 1.47 USD per 1 kg, and this year it became 1.50 USD. This is the import price excluding customs duties.
TOP-5 importing countries from which Georgia buys chicken meat:
1. China - 2,960 tons for $5.4 million;
2. Brazil - 2,558 tons for $3.3 million;
3. Ukraine - 1,162 tons for $1.9 million;
4. Turkey - $1.9 million for 981.9 tons;
5. Netherlands - $1.04 million for 790.8 tons.
As for the domestic exports, this year Georgia exported 596.8 thousand 329 tons of poultry meat, which was 67% less than last year. Exports were made to 2 countries: Armenia and Azerbaijan.
