Georgia generated $1.1 billion in revenue from international travel in the second quarter of 2026, according to the National Bank of Georgia. The figure represents a 3.8% decline compared with the same period last year. Total tourism revenue for the first half of the year reached $1.93 billion.
The European Union accounted for 17.7% of tourism income in Q2, bringing Georgia $194.9 million, up by 12% year-on-year. Revenue also increased from visitors from Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Armenia, rising by 10.3%, 49.8%, and 5.6%, respectively.
At the same time, tourism revenue from Israel and Iran declined amid ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Income from Israeli visitors fell 3% to $123.8 million, while revenue from Iran dropped 65% to $10.2 million.
The largest sources of tourism revenue in Q2 were Russia ($182.8 million), Turkey ($134.9 million), Israel ($123.8 million), and EU countries ($194.9 million). Other significant markets included Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus, and Saudi Arabia.
