Georgia Exports 4,500 Tons of Bay Leaves Worth $18.2M in Eight Months

Georgia exported 4,500 tons of bay leaves worth $18.2 million in January–August 2026, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

Compared with the same period of 2025, export volumes increased by 18%, or 680 tons, while export value rose by 15%, or $2.4 million.

China accounted for 69% of Georgia’s bay leaf exports, followed by Russia with 17% and Uzbekistan with 6%.

The eight-month figures were released by the Agriculture Ministry. Geostat’s official foreign trade statistics for January–August will be published on September 21.
