Georgia Launches Central Procurement Agency to Handle Consolidated Tenders

მთავრობის ადმინისტრაცია კანცელარია მთავრობა

From June 1, 2026, Georgia will operate a new central procurement agency responsible for conducting consolidated tenders for public sector purchases. The Parliament approved the agency’s establishment in November of last year, and it is expected to manage annual procurements worth around GEL 2 billion in goods and services.

The agency will be staffed with highly qualified personnel to ensure efficient operations and will conduct purchases through both consolidated tenders and centralized procurement upon request from individual public organizations. Its creation aligns with Georgia’s Public Procurement Law and obligations under the EU Association Agreement.

Consolidated tenders will focus on commonly used goods and services across government bodies, including fuel supply, mobile phone services, A4 paper, printers, and office equipment. By centralizing these purchases, the government aims to improve efficiency, transparency, and cost savings.

The agency will serve as a single point of coordination for major public procurement, reducing duplication and standardizing processes across ministries and state institutions.
