Internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have not received housing or compensation under any state program can voluntarily choose cash compensation of GEL 10,000 per family member, Health Minister Mikheil Sarjveladze said.

The program is intended for families that can purchase housing themselves or already have accommodation but need financial support. Application procedures will be announced in the coming days. The government has allocated GEL 58 million for the program this year, which will continue in 2027.

Meanwhile, state housing construction and the Rural House Program will continue. Around 1,700 families received apartments this year, while another 2,700 apartments are awaiting allocation. Approximately 16,000 families have received housing through the Rural House Program in recent years.

Sarjveladze said GEL 240 million has been allocated for IDP resettlement this year. Since 2012, approximately 45,000 families have received housing, according to the minister.
