Georgia imported a record 20 million parcels worth GEL 2 billion in 2025, according to Revenue Service data provided to the Georgian E-Commerce Association. The total value of imported parcels increased by GEL 604 million, or 42%, compared with 2024, while the number of shipments grew by 4.8 million, or 32%.
China accounted for the largest share of the growth, with parcels from the country totaling GEL 874 million, or 43% of the overall value. In terms of volume, 13.7 million parcels came from China, representing 69% of all imported shipments.
The average value of a parcel from China was GEl 64, significantly below the GEL 300 duty-free import threshold. The surge is linked to the growing popularity of global e-commerce platforms such as Temu, Shein, Alibaba and Pinduoduo, which have expanded their marketing activities in Georgia and offer free delivery options.
Online purchases from Russia also increased sharply, driven by platforms such as Ozon and Wildberries. The number of parcels from Russia rose by 474% in 2025 to 1.1 million shipments, while their total value reached GEL 52 million, with an average parcel value of GEL 47.
