Georgia’s Ministry of Education has signed a GEL 45.6 million contract with Chinese company Glory Textile Industry for the supply of school uniforms for first to sixth-grade students. The agreement, published on the State Procurement Agency website, covers a total of 1.8 million uniform items, which will be delivered between August 25 and November 30, 2026.
According to the contract specifications, the uniforms will be made predominantly from synthetic materials, including 72% polyester, 25% viscose, and 3% elastane. The supplier states that the garments are designed to withstand washing at 40°C.
The price list shows that a girls’ jacket costs GEL 39.61, a boys’ jacket GEL 35.43, a dress GEL 16.76, and trousers GEL 19.65. A full boys’ set (jacket and two pairs of trousers) costs GEL 74.73, while a girls’ set (jacket, trousers, and a dress) is priced at GEL 76.02.
Delivery will be carried out in three phases, starting with 301,000 units in August 2026 and ending with 900,000 units by late November. The contract was awarded through direct negotiations rather than a competitive tender, and the Chinese supplier is linked to Jiangsu SUMEC ETON KIDD Brand Management Co., which manufactures school uniforms in Jiangsu Province.
